Mom's friend, Joann, sent a couple of big fluffy dogs for the kids to cuddle with while watching television. Needless to say, they were a big hit. Jared has moved his from the living room to his bedroom and back again (over and over).
THANK YOU, Joann!

Presents for the birthday girl
Books were this year's birthday theme. Evie really likes to "read." She mostly identifies letters and tells you the sounds they make (she doesn't know all the sounds, but she's working on it!). Anyway, she got a cute bag, filled with books. Grandma and Grandpa got her a cute pop-up play tent. In the last picture, she's wearing a butterfly from the tent, but somehow I didn't get any pics of the actual tent. I'll have to take care of that....
Second (& final) trip to the zoo
We headed back to the zoo on Saturday. Two pluses---Jared got to go and the rides were open! A trip on the teacups is necessary and Jared wanted to to ride the logs, too.
No pictures were taken as proof, but me, Scott, Grandma and Jared rode the bumper cars. Grandpa stayed with the girls. The bumper cars were so much fun!!

Birthday (Cup)Cakes
Okay, so I'm all about the Pink Moon Cupcake Bakery these days, so that's what we had for Evie's birthday. Her 3rd birthday is actually today, the 12th, but we indulged in birthday-happiness yesterday.
Evie had the Princess, Jared the Spiderman, Scott the apple crumb cake, Me the peppermint chocolate, Grandma the lemon coconut, Grandpa the carrot cake and one extra--the pumpkin. Can't go wrong with so many yummy choices.
(Grandma only had one request---she did not want whatever it was that James got over the summer! :) )
