Big Machines @ Cosi

This past week was "Big Machines" week at Cosi. I took the kids downtown to see & touch all the cool construction equipment. Jared had a blast and so did Madison. Evie?...not so much!

This was the only photo I snapped of E, and she looks a little silly--to say the least.

A look inside Cosi

There are fun hands-on science experiments all around in the hallways. In the last few weeks, Jared got to experiment with force via a spinning tire and see what air pressure does to shaving cream & balloons.

The Ocean exhibit is a favorite amongst us all! It's sooo cool and Jared really enjoys getting wet--on purpose!

Growing Up

Yes, that's my little boy using a knife to slice strawberries. It's funny; you can't say at what age stuff will happen, you just know when they're ready....I wouldn't have thought we'd be ready by now!

Ice Cream in May

Yes, I know these (like the last post) are more than a little late, but I thought they were cute enough to share anyway! I feel the need to take a picture any time I catch my kids being cooperative!

Build-a-Bear in Kentucky

Laura and I took the kids to Build-a-Bear while on our annual trek to Kentucky. The kids had a ball. Unfortunately, I only managed to get my camera out one time the whole weekend. :(

Lightbulb Moment

This morning, I sat down to read "The Storm" to Jared from his devotion book that we read together. At the end of first paragraph, I read, "Jesus fell asleep." Jared looked over and said, "I can read this story along with you." He left the room and returned less than a minute later with "Read-Aloud Bible Stories, Vol. 1." He scanned the contents and found the story titled, "The Wind that Obeyed." He proceeded to read the story to me....and it WAS the same story!

I love that he not only knew the story, but knew which of the four books that it was in!

These precious books were gifts to Jared from the Sockwells when Evie was born. They have been much-loved by our two eldest children!
